Nurse of the Year Awards

2023 Pineywoods Nurse of the Year Awards is a Nurse Empowering & Support focused Program the Communities of Rural East Texas recognizing and bridging community and healthcare for excellence in patient care and workplace morale improvement initiatives.

History on the Pineywoods Nurse Awards & What's to Come:
Starting in East Texas, we launched a recognition awards program fueled by outside corporate and local business owners who donated prizes, trips, and more to award nurses along with certificates and media related recognition in the rural areas of deep East TX including Cleveland, Shepherd, Corrigan, Chester, Woodville, Groveton Huntsville Trinity & Livingston. We are underway with the 2nd Annual NOTY Awards program after a multitude of positive feedback and catching the attention of several large nurse organizations with encouragement to lead forward after a "pay it forward" ripple effect movement elevated our entire regional area. We are thrilled and blessed to work alongside and aid in helping retain and assist all nurses struggling with compassion fatigue or burnout and empowering to connect and collaborate to bring the future a rejuvenated and passionate healthcare force that will inevitably result in the best patient outcomes.

Why Donate?
15 Winners of the 2022 Pineywoods Nurse of the Year Awards Program (based in Rural East TX locations of Cleveland, Shepherd, Trinity, Huntsville, Livingston, Corrigan, and Groveton, Texas) were awarded with luxurious self-care influenced trips to the beautiful Carribean areas of Antigua, Barbados, and Panama! Thanks to Elite Island Resorts, these all-inclusive adults only oceanfront villas are completely free stays for the deserving hard working nurses that have been recognized for their leadership in compassion and excellence in quality patient care and driving positive workplace environment initiatives. Your support aids in covering their flight costs so that they will take these well deserved trips and enjoy their R&R time knowing how loved and supported they are in their communities and by their own clinician peers and patients. Every dollar donated goes directly to pay for 15 Round Trip Flights for each nurse from Houston to either Barbados, Panama, or Antigua and we will work directly with Elite Island Resorts to ensure the best possible pricing on these flights so each winner has opportunity to enjoy their luxury resort trip! Amanda Maggio is the Program Founder/Coordinator with 2023 kicking off the first PNA Committee force that's already up to 30+ members dedicated to driving this program forward! We are looking forward to growth and innovative collaboration to grow and expand our resources for our rural areas of Texas, especially right here in the Pineywoods!!
